Manual of Whining
manual do mimimi [manual of whining] could be described as a love guide for cool women. the publisher proposed a graphic design entirely sketched over by illustrator zé otávio, so that the book would look like a personal diary or even a sketchbook. the graphic solution is a rigid typographic structure, leaving empty areas to be illustrated. the titles on the opening pages are relatively big, while still being just as light, or even lighter, than the illustrator’s lines. the book was completely typeset and delivered without any images, so that the illustrator could sketch over it after the text composition. the cover came out of our collaborative work.
