About leafs that resists
This book of short stories tells narratives about female characters living far from urban centers who resist against the patriarchal culture. The book themes are tough but handled with a delicate touch. it combines the feelings of fragility and violence at the same time. Resistance may be not free from some violence. I see in the stories an attachment to the land and nature, as if they were more legitimate than modern life. So the leaves that are half alive and half dead try to symbolize a little of that. The author herself suggested this methaphor for the cover and my work was to collect different types of leaves in the Atlantic Forest of Rio de Janeiro to create this collage.
