Photographer Lucas Lenci travelled around the world to make an essay about silence. this photobook’s graphic design recreates the silent and paused atmosphere found in his work. The book is designed as a fragile and delicate object. The fake front cover is printed directly on its endpaper, and its spine is uncovered as well. It seems to invite the reader in for a careful closer look. The book is protected by a translucent dustjacket made of acoustic insulation material, which also works as a metaphor for silence. the Image sequence keeps a constant and austere rhythm under a grid with no variations, saving the surprise for the photos themselves.
